Please note that all data on your Dingoo will be wiped during this process, back up if possible. The program has been converted to English and both types of LCD drivers are included. To establish which LCD driver you will need to use, go to the about screen of your Dingoo and press UP, RIGHT, DOWN, UP, RIGHT, DOWN. An english guide is also included.

Dingoo A320 CPU Overclocking Tool (ZIP file | 32 KB)

This is an application that allows you to overclock your Dingoo's CPU & Memory speeds. Useful when playing more demanding emulators such as CPS2 & Neo-Geo. The Dingoo's CPU is a 400 MHz CPU under-clocked to 336 MHz (presumably to enable longer battery life). Therefore if done wisely, overclocking your Dingoo should be quite safe - just don't over do it. I have mine overclocked to 410 MHz most of the time and have never experienced any problems.

To use, extract all files to a folder on your Dingoo within the GAME folder. Run the application from the 3D menu command.

The Dingoo resets the CPU clock back to the default 336 MHz each time you run/exit a program, to circumvent this you must:

  • Enter the over-clocking application and set your desired CPU speed. I wouldn't recommend going much over 410 MHz (also I would slide the memory speed to its maximum setting before continuing - you'll work out why soon enough). Now press & HOLD the A button. It is crucial that you do not release the A button over the next few steps.
  • Press the START button to quit the application (keeping the A button held down the entire time).
  • Use the directional pad and hit left 4 times to bring you back to the Game center menu.
  • Push down and go to the Interesting game menu. Now release the A button & then quickly press and hold it down again to enter the Interesting game file menu (do not release the A button once re-pressed).
  • Use the directional pad to select a folder and to load a game. Only release the A button once the emulator has started running.

A good test to see if it worked is to play one of the Capcom emulators - the emulator menu screen will scroll much faster than usual - as will the general A320 menu screens. You could also set the clock to something really slow, 200 MHz for example, and you will easily notice how slow and sluggish everything feels. Not good for gaming but a good test to see if overclocking has worked.

If you hold down A before exiting the emulator and work your way back to the overclocking application you'll see that the CPU speed is set to whatever you last set it to. If not, you did it wrong.
